OCM events include father and son retreats, men’s retreats, and children’s camps. Bible teaching, worship, and prayer will be blended with hikes, hunting, and fishing. Outdoor trips are scheduled for juvenile offenders and teenagers with troubled pasts. Our home base is a 14,000-acre private ranch located in the South Texas Brush Country. Through a long-term agreement, OCM has use of this property that includes amenities such as multiple structures to accommodate and provide comfort for 25-35 people as well as a swimming pool for recreational purposes. With the opportunity to serve our community as a non-profit organization, it greatly assists us in raising the funds necessary to provide the Christian ministry opportunities described above to transport, feed, house, and care for them in remote outdoor settings. Our Partners: Founder: Lee Morrison (deceased) was a Christian businessman and served as Chairman of the State of Texas Structural Pest Control Board. Morrison was founder and owner of Worldwide Pest Control, Inc. He was involved in outdoor ministry from 1979-2009. His expertise in hunting and fishing throughout North America was recognized by the many who have experienced the trips and events he led. In addition, Morrison embodied a fervent desire to provide opportunities for individuals and groups to experience the grandeur of the outdoors and to encourage them to grow in their relationship with their Creator. As founder and president of OCM, he provided oversight, vision, and logistical counsel. President: Dale Burnett is a Christian businessman and a retired state employee with 29 years of service. He currently works as a consultant in management and regulatory matters. He shares a common desire with his fellow board members to provide opportunities for individuals and groups to experience the grandeur of the outdoors and to encourage them to grow in their relationship with their Creator. As President of OCM, he assists in the planning, publicizing and oversight of events and in the management of OCM facilities. Dale served as OCM Vice-President in 2008 and 2009. He is a member of Buda United Methodist Church. Vice-President: Mike Schneider is a maintenance mechanic for a pharmaceutical company in Austin TX. He grew up in west Texas hunting, fishing, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors with a family that has spent a lot of time doing these things together. He and his wife Tricia were married in 1995. They are members of Buda United Methodist Church and reside in Buda TX. Mike began volunteering at OCM in 2008. He has helped on retreats as a teacher, guide, cook, and archery instructor. He has also worked on the camp ground, facility repair and blind/feeder maintenance. According to Mike, "OCM combines all of the things that I love about the outdoors with a mission of sharing the good news of a new life in Jesus with all those who visit our facilities. I am excited and humbled to serve in the capacity of OCM's Board Vice President. My prayer is that God's hand will preside over all our endeavors and guide our decisions. Thy will not ours be done, Amen." Secretary/Treasurer: Eugene Pryor is a Christian businessman from Houston. Eugene first became involved with OCM in 2009. He has volunteered his time and equipment at many retreats. He began serving as an OCM officer in 2016. |
